Our friends at MomFinds.com share some great picks for health and beauty products to bring on your next plane trip this summer.

The Kanreki Tonic sounds particular divine to me — I get really dry skin when I fly and this offers to hydrate in just a few sprays.

These spring-loaded plastic chopsticks are shaped like giant, colorful clothespins, making them perfect for kids (or for a cool, casual dinner party). If you’ve ever been dumbfounded by dumplings or frustrated by fried rice, you’ll probably want to get a couple of each color before your next attempt to conquer General Gao. Once you have a few, think outside the take-out box — they’d be great for serving appetizers, sampling sushi, or nibbling on olives, too. They’re reusable, dishwasher-safe, and cost just $1.99 each at Perpetual Kid.

I am one of those annoying organized people and yet I am constantly running around looking for my keys, sun glasses, Blackberry, you name it. My mom used to do this — the run around looking for stuff part– when I was younger and it was painful to just watch her do it. Now it’s me.

So I’m going to get organized with this part of my life and get one of these nifty Doorganizers. You just hang it on the door and put all those easy-to-lose things, like your keys or an important note, in it. When you leave the house, it’s right there staring at you.

With fees climbing ever higher for overweight luggage, it makes good sense to know how heavy your bags are before you check in at the airport. Lugging your luggage over to your bathroom scale and weighing yourself with and without the bag may work in a pinch, but what if you’re already on your trip? That’s where the Balanzza digital scale comes in handy. It measures in pounds or kilograms, and can gauge bags up to 100 pounds — more than the standard airline cut-off. You just attach the strap to your bag, use the scale’s handle to lift the bag up, and hold it until you hear a beep. There are no hooks to deal with, it’s easy to read and, at 10-ounces, it won’t take up much room in your suitcase. It requires to AA batteries and cost $24.95 at Balanzza’s online store .

From our friends at MomFinds.com:

LAVA ShellsAstronomical gas prices? Big bank busts? Talks of recession? No wonder everyone’s talking about “staycations”. If you’re nixing your summer vacation this year, you can still escape. OK, so you won’t be flying off anywhere exotic, but these goodies can help make you feel like you’re somewhere else.

Destination France: No time to jet to Bordeaux, France? Buff away dry skin with Caudalie’s natural, wine-inspired Crushed Cabernet Scrub that exfoliates, softens, and nourishes the skin. Pour yourself a little Cabernet to complete the experience.

Wondering what to get the person who has everything? This book can be your guide (or perhaps the gift itself). The Wine Trials by Robin Goldstein and Alexis Herschkowitsch (list price: $14.95) gives you the scoop about 100 wines that cost less than $15 each — and outscored bottles that cost 10 times as much. The book’s tasting notes are busy but never precocious… er, we mean detailed but easy to read, with information about the nose (smell), mouth (taste) and design (look) of each and every bottle. Keep an eye out for the editor’s picks — they’re the wines that beat the big ones.

One of my favorite parts of the day is hanging out with my daughter after dinner and before she goes to bed.

Recently we’ve started to play a game during this time and Kids On Stage is her (and my!) latest favorite pick. It’s like charades, but easier for kids to play, and it’s great for helping my daughter learn how to express herself creatively.

I think many women have that “thing” they must wear before feeling complete - that signature item they apply in order to “pull it all together” before they head out the door.

I have one friend who cannot live without gloss, another can’t step into a business meeting without shockingly high heels. For me, it’s necklaces. Since my early teens, I’ve always been drawn to chunky, interesting designs on chains, and if I had to choose just one piece of jewelry to wear, it would be one of my necklaces. I think they add personality to business-woman style that can otherwise be buttoned up.

The best thing about bold, accentuating necklaces is that they don’t have to be expensive. Etsy is a hotbed of innovative, brilliant and inexpensive design. Last week I added to my (already kind of shamefully extensive) necklace collection with the acquisition of a 14-dollar black bird on blue sky pendant, complete with silver chain and unique clear casing. In the week I’ve worn it, I’ve received five compliments.

Necklaces aren’t only a personal style reflection, but an awesome conversation starter, too. Here are a few of my favorite Etsy necklace artists; browse around and find yours. You can search by artisan, location, or preferred style. There are some amazing treasures to be found!

So many of the tank tops of summer have raceback straps and plunging necklines, and I love them all. But my relatively flat chest has major issues with the look; a strapless bra doesn’t work on me (just slides straight into my belly), and I conventional bra straps look awkward in many of my tank tops.

So I took a meander to Victoria’s Secret, with the intention of consulting with a Bra Expert there to find out what kind of strapless bra would stay attached to my chicken-boobed body. But I didn’t even get the chance to hunt down a well-frocked lingerie attendant when I came across this beautiful, seamless cami with - wait for it - a built-in push up bra.

The thing has the comfort of cotton with the stamina of metal: it not only pulls in my flabby parts, but it pushes up my breasts and provides excellent support. On night one I wore it under a skim-fitting sweater, on night two I wore it under my orange racer-back tank and on day three, I went running in it. It gave me more support than my Nike running bra, and as a bonus I jogged with stellar-looking cleavage. Tonight I might sleep in it and then tomorrow I promise I’ll wash it.

$48.00 at Victoria’s Secret stores and online. And worth every penny.
