The old-school felt board gets updated for today’s kid-on-the-go by the folks at Manhattan Toy. This 31-piece set includes four themes — royalty, under the sea, fairy garden, and family room — and all the floppy felt pieces pack into pockets of the handled case (which doubles as the feltboard itself).

I am not going to try and pronounce the name but Woollyhoodwinks are cuddly woodland creatures made lovably real in select woolen fabrics. These truly unique toys (they remind me of Ugly Dolls) are handmade and each one is therefore completely unique. And each one comes with it’s own tree and special surprises.

Remember those origami fortune tellers you made as a kid, the ones that you could open and close with your fingertips? Cahootie is a way cooler version of those notebook-paper creations, with sturdy, reusable stickers instead of scribbled-on silliness, and questions much more interesting and clever than the ones you came up with in grade school. There are six smart versions available — from political trivia to birthday wishes — and they make a great gift for hard-to-buy-for tweens. They cost about $6 each and you can find them at many toy stores and online at Growing Tree Toys.
My daughter is four and is really getting into drawing and tracing and coloring and making me nuts with "Mommy can you draw me a really good elephant?" If you can’t draw a really good elephant - I can’t, apparently, draw any of the animals in the right way - these fun stencils are a great substitute.

Fall is here and your little girl’s hands need to stay warm. These gloves are fun in design and function — keep fingers free when it’s not too cold and cover them up with an attached mitten-like top when it’s colder.

I first came across these leg warmers when my daughter was just an infant. I thought they would go great under dresses. Now I see how wonderful they are to protect her knees when crawling and playing, and for potty training, which is looming on the horizon. Babylegs come in a HUGE selection of colors and patterns, and they have some in organic cotton, too (yummy!).
