I used to have the babysitter at home for 4 hours a day until last week - and it did seem a lot better. But suddenly, because I have 8 hours instead of 4 hours to work, I find myself tempted to do things out of the house that I couldn't do before and it is sucking up my time. Always a balance issue - always trying to figure that one out.

I can relate to this too, although I don't get out of the house often like that. :p I also opted to hire a nanny so I can be "at work" by 9am by walking downstairs out of site from the kids. But, I also LOVE the fact I can cook dinner during my lunch break, if I want and see the kids and also I am always home for dinner. It is hard, sometimes, though, not to even get 15 minutes of commute time to decompress before diving into dinner preparation and such. As slow as I walk, I just can't seem to take 15 minutes to walk upstairs. ;) I know I can force the 15 minutes, but that would just mean I work 15 minutes longer, which happens often anyway. It's just not realistic. Too much to do.

OMG, I can so relate -- to a lot of this -- but particularly to the 4:30 wake up and can't go back to sleep so do work in my head. It's affecting my work later because I am so hazy and tired, but can't help it!
