Bush. Has. No. Clue.
I teach in a "low-income" neighborhood. I feel for my students when they get sick and can't go to the doctor. We do our best to get them school supplies, but I can't pay their medical bills.

"But I would hardly qualify families earning between $40,000 and $60,000 a year as 'rich,' especially depending on where they live. And if those families don’t get health insurance through their employers, there’s a good chance they can’t afford to pay for housing and food and utilities and private health insurance."

Absolutely true. I've lived in places where that's a solid middle-class income, and places like where I live now, where - you've got to be kidding. $40K is just-about-getting-by money.

This is ridiculous.
