On a flight last year to Los Angeles, I watched six straight episodes of America’s Next Top Model on the DirectTV screen in front of me.

I know … I’m weak. Without any Project Runway to keep me occupied, I settled for a lesser reality show.

But apparently for Hillary Clinton, America’s Next Top Model is the bomb! I suppose if you’re a guest on Tyra Banks’ talk show, you kind of have to say that. And Hillary is going to be on Tyra’s show this Friday!

Sure, Senator Clinton will be talking about politics and the recent controversy over racial comments made by her campaign, but we get to see the lighter side of Hillary, too — she’ll be chatting about all sorts of girly stuff, like her first date with Bill and whether she’s a good dancer (Tyra wants to know if Hillary knows how to do “the SpongeBob!”)

Tyra does get around to asking Clinton about the Monica issue, as well, and I’m not sure I’m happy about that. Hasn’t this woman had to deal with that long enough? It really doesn’t have anything to do with whether she can lead the country and, really, aren’t we all way past tired of hearing about it?

Hillary isn’t the only presidential candidate making a special trip to the Tyra studios. Barack Obama has already been a guest and has demonstrated his basketball finesse. It’s clearly very important for the nation to weigh how good a candidate is at shooting hoops with a model wearing six-inch heels before casting their ballots!

So where does that leave the rest of the presidential hopefuls? If Tyra is the new kingmaker of American politics, I want to see the rest of the candidates answer her insightful questions and talk about their favorite reality shows, as long as she doesn’t put Rudy Giuliani on the catwalk!
