The big thing about nonprofit has traditionally been the tradeoff of lower pay vs. better benefits and THEORETICALLY lower stress. 3+ weeks of vacation a year is more than I get a chance to use, plus the 10 paid holidays - that's all good. The "lower stress" part - well, not so much lately. But all in all I like it this way and expect to keep it up for awhile longer. I submitted an article here last week talking about the good points of the corporate life, which you and Selfmademom have both brought up here too. If you have a laptop at home try unplugging it and packing it into a laptop bag for the weekend. Stuff the bag into the trunk of the car. That's where mine is right now! Well. My WORK laptop that is. Already, what I really miss is being able to leave work at work.
