Planning for the office holiday partyI’m on the office planning committee charged with coordinating our team holiday celebration. My love of parties trumps my hate for Christmas so my Grinch-ish holiday tendencies aren’t spoiling the event planning fun.

One of the things we are considering is a photo scavenger hunt. In my head I have started kicking around ideas to put on the list but there is one tiny problem. In my head I can take every seemingly innocent photo suggestion and make it photo suggestive.

*bow chica bow bow*

We aren’t inviting HR to this party but I still need to behave. Let’s hope that I get teamed up with someone with a good moral compass to keep this event on the up and up. I really don’t need the team photo hunt to become an HR conduct report in the making.

Complete with photographic evidence.

Lucky for everyone someone other than me is coordinating the food. That right there increases the odds that it will be an edible lunch by about 100%. We’re planning an entire afternoon of screwing around although I think the employee communication will call it “team building” or something kinder and gentler and HR friendlier than “screwing around”.

So what is shaking in your office space for the holidays? Any fun competitions? Parties? Lunch adventures? Pin the tail on the manager?

Do tell.

ooh we are having a glitzy fancy hotel party this year for our department (of about 1500, i think 1100 have responded - yes, i work for a hugemunous company) so that will be fun.

then on a smaller level our sub deparement or ‘group’ is having one of those gift exchange parties where everyone brings something and then you have to decide if you want to keep it or steal someone else’s! always fun to watch shy/weird/insane engineers go gaga over $10 gifts LOL!!
oh and did i mention that at his fun shindig we have ’santa’ (someone dresses up!) and three ‘elves’ of which i am one.. yes… yes my 5′10″ self if an ‘elf’ (they are techie engineers, of COURSE all the elves are girls!!!)

very excited to attend both!! whats not to like about free food??

haha speaking of mininterpretations - just realized that could be read as ’sexist’ and we wouldnt want that! what i meant was no boy engineer in their right mind would volunteer to be an Elf, Santa yes, but Elf hahahaha they wont do it! we tried…

Since most days I work in a one person office I think I’ll just make me some home made eggnog, ask the babysitter to stay for a couple extra hours, and lock myself in the office getting tanked. Maybe, if my office mate/hubby gets home during this event he can join in on the fun. HR would love that!!

Kidding, of course. I can’t really handle that much dairy at once.
