a new year, a new me!

So today is the day before New Years Eve 2010.... hard to believe another year is almost over! Where has the time gone? As 2011 approaches, I have SERIOUSLY decided that the new year= a new me! I am talking about making changes in all aspects of my life: personal, financial, work, etc I swear having a child makes you totally rethink your priorities & what is REALLY important in life. I just want to provide the best life for my family & as the saying goes "if mama ain't happy, no one's happy!" So what are these changes I am talking about? Let's see:
(1) Loose weight & get in shape! I know, I know this is ALWAYS #1 on everyone's New Yr Resolution list, right?! But I am gonna be serious about it! I promised myself & Brandon that once Dakota (my daughter) was born, that I would get myself back in shape & not be one of these women who lets themselves go & uses the excuse "I'm a mommy" as a reason to lounge in sweats & no make-up on a daily basis! (NO LADIES, I AM NOT DISSIN SWEATS, THAT IS MY WEEKEND ATTIRE!) I haven't decided which "fad diet" I am gonna try this go round..... but I am determined to make what I try work! I want to tone up all the jiggle & possible see the signs of a 6-pack (I've never had that before) I know as women, we are always SO worried about the # on the scale, but I am gonna try not to focus on the # but how I feel & how my clothes fit. I've got 2 weddings coming up, May & October, both of which I am a bridesmaid in, & the dresses I am wearing will show any kind of jiggle (GO FIGURE!) If I had to set a goal, here is what I would like to see:
start date: 01/01/11 wt 190 size 14
end date: 05/01/2011 wt 145-150 size 10
Trust me, I am not gonna starve myself or go to drastic measures to loose all the weight, but I think that w/a balanced diet, cutting back on the sweets/soda, & exercising @ least 3x a week, I could possible loose 1-2lb a week? Wish me luck & I wll keep you all updated on my success!
(2) Put $100/paycheck in savings! Yes, I know this can be easier said than done, but I want to have a cushion in case of emergencies, or just some extra $$ we can pull from if we want to have a night out! Brandon & I both get paid bi-weekly so I figure we can put $400/month in savings.... which adds up to $4800 in a year (That sounds like a great vacation!!)
