The Death of the Breast Pump

Here I sit in Pittsburgh, wishing I could have my daughter here right now.

My poor breast pump has given its all, and there just isn't any suck left.  Why is it that all the products we purchase that aren't supposed to suck DO suck, and the products that we need to suck, never do!  My breast pump gave me 13 months of exclusively pumping for my son.   6 times a day for 13 months is a LOT of suction.  I guess that's enough for one little breast pump.  But alas, it doesn't help me right now, since I won't be home until tomorrow night!  I managed to get a couple of ounces out with the pump, but I usually get 6-8 ounces out.  Tomorrow is going to be a FULL day.  Wish I brought my hand pump!

  • Hope you're not too uncomfortable on this very "full" day. Hang in there!

  • Wow. Impressive. I have to admit that I have a love-hate relationship with my own pump (used now for just 5 months), and I took secret pleasure out of your title, "The Death of the Breast Pump." ha ha. I will probably have mixed feelings when my own dies. (It should NOT die until after the second kiddo, my hubby tells me, because a second kiddo will make the pump worth it's expense.) So says the non-lactating man who doesn't have to pump! Hope you get through tomorrow!
