A day to myself

What would I do with a day to myself?

Right now I'm running such an alone-time deficit, I think I'd need at least four days to get through it all... I'd like to wake when I feel like it, and go to bed when I feel like it. (Early, on both ends.)

- I'd like a long soak in a hot tub, and do all the body-pampering that goes with a long soak. Shaving and exfoliating and lathering and perfuming...

- Read. Lots of reading.

- Write in my journal.

-  Go for a long walk. (Because of course there would be NO SNOW.)

- Call a friend on the phone.

- Go out for coffee.

- (I'd walk to the coffee.)

- Get my eyebrows done and have a manicure.

- Oh, and a massage.

- Have another long walk.

- Visit with a friend.

- Spend two nights in a hotel. By myself.

- Get ahead with some work, but only the stuff I love doing!

- Hire someone to scour the house from top to bottom. (They'd come while I was out for my walk...)

  • T-Mac. Nope, Ottawa (Canada). Thus proving geography doesn't make a huge heap of difference, sometimes!

  • Read, walk for coffee, let someone else clean the house while you're gone...no wonder we've connected. That sounds just like me.

  • KathyHowe: You have a favourite spa?? At which you can SLEEP OVER? Dang. I need to find me one of those!

Casinomom: I told myself I was going to get away, just myself, over March break. Instead, I went to visit my eldest daughter... However, she is a massage therapist in training, so I got two great massages! AND a couple of spa treatments at her school.

Florinda - I really do, and it's silly: I have a week off earlier in the month, and just had a 4-day Easter weekend. But did I take any time JUST for me? No, I did not, and I have no one to blame but myself, because my family is totally supportive of my need for time out.

  • I'm taking a long weekend in a few days, and some of these things are on my agenda. You're quite right about needing more than just ONE day. :-)

  • Sounds great! I treated myself to a Vegas vacation with no work or kids allowed. Just me and a wonderful hotel. I had a massage, had meals and even partied a little with some friends that live there. It was excellent! Think I will do it once a year from now on. Just what the doctor ordered!!

  • Dang. After reading this I'm thinking I need 3 days at my favorite spa. I must email them to see about space IMMEDIATELY!

Long walks, coffee and massages! Just what I need!
