What my kids want to be when they grow up

My kids change their minds about what they want to be when they grow up.

Today it might be a dentist and tomorrow it could be a chef. Lately, the most common answers have been, Zoologist taking care of Penguins from Kyler (8) and Kaylee (8) wants to take care of endangered baby animals. This stems from our morning love affair with Animal Planets "Growing Up" series.

Around here we measure success in happiness... so if they are doing something they love, whether its the PeaceCorp, freelance or changing oil... that's enough for us!

  • Very cute! I agree with you about doing what makes you happy. My son is 9 and just yesterday he informed that he won't be needing to go to college because he plans to be a comedian or an artist. I told him I thought he already was a bit of both.

I think next week he'll be telling me something else. I must be an age thing : )

  • My $0.02 for this sunny week-end: taking care of endangered species is actually not bad at all! Maybe these wonderful kids can save this world from getting too crazed about $$$ and remind us that while money can buy a lot of stuff and facilitate having a good time, happiness is a state of mind achieved by the wise and the ones who enjoy the little things in life. Great kids, great thinking!
    Cheers,
    Lorena.
