OliverMartini - I am so glad you wrote this - because I was a wuss and didn't. The first feeling I had when I realized my daughter might be sick was Oh, crap! I have all this work to do! And then immediately I felt SO guilty for worrying about work when she is sick....

I too know what you both mean. Benjamin is now a year but last December when I returned to work and I put him in daycare he instantly came down with a cough and that was just the beginning. My husband and I spent Christmas day hovered over the toilet and couldn't believe that such a little being could bring us that much misery!! Honestly, it was one thing after another. I can't even tell you how many times I was on the phone with the Drs office at 3:00am. On top of that was the pressure of just returning to work, having only a couple of sick days in the bank and slightly more vacation time. The stress was enormous. But, I love my daycare (it's in my building), my boss has children as do most of my colleagues, and the pediatrician is a 15 minute walk from here. So, I guess it could be worse. Now, I am bracing myself for this winter and can only imagine what's in store!!! Hang in there-- and don't beat yourself up- it can't be helped and you are truly doing the best job you can- that's what I keep telling myself!

ah i know exactly what you mean my daughter had been staying home with my hubby/her daddy and has not been sick all year long now shes back in daycare and i just hate how often she has to get sick..one time she got a real badd stomach flu me and my husband caught we were throwin up like crazy and so was she.....another great reason i wanna be a WAHM ; ) hope your daughter gets better..chicken soup is great
