normall i am all hyped and excited about a new day!  but i think today is annoying because i have no real meetings or people to interact with.  well this morning i met with a mentor who really helped me see the direction i should take with my career.  but i dont wanna!

only to get back to my desk to find email from a member of one of my project team - copying my boss - bascially tossing me under the bus.  It just doenst makes sense becasue i am handling the porject the way he and my boss have asked (we report to the same guy).  just a very weird email that was curt and cutting.  it's very weird.  and did nothing but make me feel badly.  though i am now setting up a multi-hour meeting in which he will be required to be there too.  who would request a line by line review with multiple technical people?  are they not capable of editing a document online?  really we have to sit in a room so i can take transcribe?  insulting!

ok, now i am going to go think about something else so i can get over this.

  • What KathyHowe said. Also, this person may have had his own agenda for copying your boss, which your boss may or may not buy into and which may end up reflecting more poorly on the sender than on anyone else.

  • You know, if I were you I would either go talk to my boss about the email or schedule a meeting to discuss the email with my boss and the sender. A good discussion about where this person was coming from with their communication might give you insight as to why they sent the message that they did and how you can work with this person better in the future. Maybe this particular person needs a level of hand holding that others do not? Anyhoo...just a thought. I had a co-worker "tattle" on me to my MANAGER'S MANAGER a few weeks ago. As soon as I found out I went straight to the manager that received the email and I also notified my direct manager of the incident. They both viewed the "tattle" on me as silly.

  • I hate those days when things just aren't lining up right - I have them a lot:)

  • I'm sorry that it's started off so crappy this morning. Hopefully your boss will see that your coworker is just out of line with his email and will blow it off.
