Politics aside, I think the dicussion Sarah Palin's nomination has engendered is fascinating! I don't believe it's really about working moms vs SAHM, I believe a lot of the gnashing of teeth is more about JEALOUSY.

Why? I know that when I see that well put-together woman giving a speech to the entire nation, I think dang! How come I can't even get this load of laundry done AND meet my work deadline in time? How does she do it all?

Modern moms are incredibly self critical and have very high standards. Palin reminds us all of what we ourselves would not be capable of, and that makes us feel inadequate. And those of us who DO feel capable of achieving those standards, well, we haven't quite suceeded, have we? So Palin is a constant reminder of what we could have and maybe do or don't want.

Every woman is different and capable of handling different amounts of stress.  Palin's capabilities make us all wonder if we are doing the best we can.
