Don't settle for "if"
I'm somewhat saddened to think that the weekly blog theme question (If you had an hour for yourself, what would you do?) is phrased in such a
"you might as well blog about it, cuz it ain't happenin'" kind of way.
I have to say I'm disheartened by the number of suggested themes that focus on getting an hour, a day, a moment to myself. Not disheartened in a "I can't believe you, WIM!" way. Disheartened in that I don't really feel like this is something I need to write about. Am I so uniquely lucky in that my husband and I give each other time to ourselves on the weekends quite often? Sure, sometimes my "me time" is going to the grocery store. Sometimes it's the pure luxury of knowing that no one will wake me unless the house is on fire on my "sleep in morning."
Come on ladies, don't settle for IF. Take one hour and spend it doing whatever you want this weekend. Please. Do it for your kids (they want to see a happy mommy). Do it for your significant other. But most importantly, do it for yourself.
I'll go first.
When I have an hour to myself this weekend, I'm going to practice yoga uninterrupted.
