Holiday Season
Wow, the holiday's are upon us! This is my favorite time of year, spending warm evenings with my family playing board games or making cookies. Not that it happens all that often now that I have a teenager. I fear gone are my idealic holidays, in place all I hear is a car pulling away from the drive.
But, every year we have a tradition of taking at least one day to spend just having fun. We do this with my best friend and her children, who are the same age. These kids have grown up together, and are pretty darn close to being brothers and sister. I know the teenager will still participate, but this could easily be the last year, with Shelby heading off to college.
One of the greatest things we do is play laser tag. What a great way to relieve some stress, and how much fun is it to play either with or against your child. I can't decide which is better -- strategizing with them, or against them! We usually end up playing at least two games, and laughing our tail off of the rest of the day. Great exercise also.
This year, unfortunately, the laser tag store closed. I know we'll do a movie and lunch, but not sure about another activity. Maybe we'll do ice skating...hopefully I won't break anything! We'll probably also hit the ceramics store and do a piece or two, but I'm really trying to find something active that we can all do, but doesn't take hours and hours. Anyone have any suggestions for holiday fun?
