If you have a spouse or a partner, what does he do? How do you split up your domestic duties?

My husband is the General Counsel of a hedge fund. When he is able to get home before bedtime during the week, we share bath and bedtime duty, but mostly during the week I do it. I look forward to the time I spend with my daughter during the week, especially if I am in schools all day.

What is, for you, the most challenging aspect of being a professional mom? What is your favorite part about it?

The most challenging part of my job is having to travel and be away from my family. My favorite part is having my own work identity other than wife and mom.

What compromises have you had to make personally and professionally since becoming a mom? Did having children affect your career path?

I travel less and work different hours, but I don’t think it has affected my career path. I stop working at 6:00 pm, when my nanny leaves. If I have more work to do, I go back to it after my daughter goes to sleep.

Who/what has been most helpful to you as you’ve navigated through your career as a mom? Where do you go for support/advice to help you?

Other moms in my community, my mom, and moms with whom I work.

Please share with us the top three things/strategies that help you successfully get through your days at work and at home.
  1. Separating work and home. Knowing when to lock the office door and when to turn the computer off.
