  • Don't go to bed until everything is picked up off the floor and put away. If you make this a habit there won't be so much to do. Also, it makes it much easier to be able to run the vacuum or sweep during the day. If your kids are old enough get them involved. Give each kid a room that they are in charge of and have them pick up everything in that room (even if it's not theirs).

  • Don't laugh - maybe you have figured this out already - when heating jarred spaghetti sauce - did you know you could heat it right in the JAR?! No need to mess up another container before putting it in the microwave. 1.5 minutes for a large jar of sauce and pour it right on the pasta. Fast and less mess to clean up! It's all about the little things for me =)

  • Drink a tall glass of water first thing in the morning. It helps me stay hydrated before the day gets completely hectic and just the act of taking a few seconds to do it is calming.

  • DRINK WATER ON EMPTY STOMACH It is popular in Japan today to drink water immediately after waking up every morning. Furthermore, scientific tests have proven its value. We publish below a description of use of water for our readers. For old and serious diseases as well as modern illnesses the water treatment had been found successful by a Japanese medical society as a 100% cure for the following diseases: Headache, body ache, heart system, arthritis, fast heart beat, epilepsy, excess fatness, bronchitis asthma, TB, meningitis, kidney and urine diseases, vomiting, gastritis, diarrhea, piles, diabetes, constipation, all eye diseases, womb, cancer and menstrual disorders, ear nose and throat diseases. METHOD OF TREATMENT 1. As you wake up in the morning before brushing teeth, drink 4 x 160ml glasses of water.... interesting 2. Brush and clean the mouth but do not eat or drink anything for 45 minutes 3. After 45 minutes you may eat and drink as normal. 4. After 15 minutes of breakfast, lunch and dinner do not eat or drink anything for 2 hours 5. Those who are old or sick and are unable to drink 4 glasses of water at the beginning may commence by taking little water and gradually increase it to 4 glasses per day. 6. The above method of treatment will cure diseases of the sick and others can enjoy a healthy life. The following list gives the number of days of treatment required to cure/control/ reduce main diseases: 1. High Blood Pressure - 30 days 2. Gastric - 10 days 3. Diabetes - 30 days 4. Constipation - 10 days 5. Cancer - 180 days 6. TB - 90 days 7. Arthritis patients should follow the above treatment only for 3 days in the 1st week, and from 2nd week onwards - daily. This treatment method has no side effects, however at the commencement of treatment you may have to urinate a few times. It is better if we continue this and make this procedure as a routine work in our life. Drink Water and Stay healthy and Active. This makes sense... the Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals… not cold water. Maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating!!! Nothing to lose, everything to gain... For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this "sludge" reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

  • Each day when I get home from work, I immediately take care of all the details that need to be dispensed with for the next day. I check my son's homework, make his lunch for the next day and put it in the refrigerator, make sure my daughter's bag is packed for daycare, and make sure my bag is packed for work the next day. Once that's out of the way, I can relax, cook dinner with my son, and enjoy the time with my family without worrying about what needs to be done for the next day.

  • each night before bed, no matter where my teens are I give them a last check in to make sure they know its almost that time (curfew) also to say I love them! And in the mornings I call to tell them good morning and keep up the good work of being in on time.

  • Enable young ones to do for themselves by putting lunch, snack and other frequently used items on shelves and in drawers that they can reach. I created a lunch and snack drawer in my kitchen so my third-grader could make her own breakfast and lunch, get her own after-school snacks. This eased our morning routine and eliminated complaints and arguments about lunches (my son used to make the lunches for he and his sister, but my daughter had issues with his peanut butter and jelly technique.).

  • Every day something stressful happens. That's the way it is when you have five kids. Every day is a challenge just to cope. And every day I stop and think, in my most hurried times, my most stressful times, of just how lucky I am. Today my children are alive and healthy. Today I am alive and healthy. Yesterday at the end of my driveway while holding a yard sale to which not many buyers came, a friend stopped to say hello. She mentioned her son had just graduated last week. I remembered what she told me 7 years ago when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. "I just want to see my son graduate from high school." "Hey, you got your wish," I said. We hugged. Every day something stressful happens and I think I just can cope, and then I remember the day late in August when my good friend called to tell me her father had died. My throat tightened and I couldn't speak. And she knew from my silence that something else was wrong. She probed, through her own tears, until I finally said I just learned from my doctor today that I have breast cancer. Through all the worries, all the stress, all the little and big troubles, I am grateful, every day, for each day I have to enjoy my life and my family.

  • Every morning before heading off to work, I sit down and have breakfast with my daughter. We get that last bit of 'us' time while we eat and I drink a nice cup of hot tea before I have to head out to work. I also go home for lunch to spend some more time with her. It's important to spend some quality time with your kids so your work-life isn't so out of balance with your home-life.

It truley is a life saver to have those meals with her and then be home by dinner. I'm not sure I'd still be working if I couldn't see her in the middle of the work day.
