I bought one of those 3 part laundry sorters from Target. I taught my 9 yr old how to sort the laundry and she watches as my 2 yr old puts the clothes in the washer. They think it's fun and it's one less thing I have to do.
I clean my bathroom while the boys are in the tub....I am stuck sitting there anyway, may as well keep busy!
I color code the drawers in my son's room (orange and brown in bottom drawer, only black in 3rd drawer), as he insists on dressing himself. He likes to dress independently, and this way, at least, I can ensure he's not wearing black and navy blue or clashing too violently.
i come home change immediately and rush to the gym for 30 min only
I do the food shopping, but my wife actually tells me what to buy, so she suggested that I create a custom, checkboxed list of all the stuff we usually buy. Now, all we have to do is check the boxes instead writing out the same things each week.
I don't think I'll ever live without diaper wipes again - great stain removers for that peanut butter hug I got on the way out the door, quick dust when monster-in-law is coming over, and works great to wipe down the kid car grime on the doorhandles and dash. I'm telling ya, they're the all-purpose cleaner of the century! But you do have to wonder about something that is gentle enough to use on a baby's behind, yet is caustic enough to clean coffee stains and grease off your work clothes...hmm...
I figured this out by accident. My 11-month-old hates being strapped into the car seat and it's even worse with her heavy winter coat on. And it's frustrating to fight her on this issue, when I pick her up from daycare! So I buckled her in without the coat on, then put her arms through the sleeves of her coat, OUTSIDE the straps! (The coat on backwards, basically.) Kept her warm from the lobby to our car, and she didn't fuss as much! (This is such a tiny tip; I don't know if it'll save anyone's LIFE, heh, but it's been helpful to me the last 2 days!)
I finally found a use for all of those little make up bags that you get free with purchase. I fill them with the travel sized toiletries that we get at the hotels we've stayed at. I make sure the bag has everything we need so that when we travel, all I have to do is grab the bag and drop it in the suitcase. It keeps packing toiletries less time consuming, keeps all of our toiletries in one place so we're not digging out each item from the suicase when we get there and also keeps the sink area at the hotel much neater because we just keep it all in a bag.
