  • A diaper emergency kit in my purse and in the glove compartment -- save your bread bags and a pack of almost-empty wipes, pack two diapers and the wipes into the bread bag and twist tie the top. You can use the bread bag to politely dispose of a smelly diaper. Voila -- Diaper 911!

  • Online shopping delivered to my office is a lifesaver. As long as I dont have to try it on, I can order handbags, facial products, or anything else online and it saves TONS of time.

  • I see my son part-time so I prioritize, especially when he is around. He is older now, so I let him know ahead of time if he needs to make plans while I am working or at an important function. I spend quality time with him every other Sunday when I make a nice breakfast and/or dinner. He is quiet, but I make sure to engage him in conversation for at least twenty minutes to keep up with his life, and let him know how important he is to me. I de-stress with music I enjoy, seeing live bands play out, laughing with friends, dancing around the house, a hot bath once in a while, incense, candles, meditation, yoga, etc.

  • My teething baby always tries to bite my finger when I am applying teething gel. So instead, I put the gel on her toothbrush and let her chew away!

  • Pretty much the only "me time" I get is my lunch 1/2 hour at work. Take that lunch break! You deserve it (and hey, it's legally mandated!) I turn off my "oh, I have SO much work to do" state of mind and grab my book and sit at starbucks or in the parking lot in my car and read/eat. It's really the only time I get to myself until around 10 pm (and that's if the baby goes to bed on time!)

  • Plastic drink cups! I bought a package of them for less than $1, and handed each of my two youngest kids15 cups. They happily stacked them into pyramids, collapsed them into piles, "decorated" them with action figures, and had tons of fun (while I was able to get dinner on the table with no fuss). It's a cheap investment, and perfect for long waits at the doctor's office or restaurants.

  • Post-its!! I keep packs of them in the van so when we are running around town or out to dinner the kids can use them. I tell them to count how many times they see a red car or stop sign ect.... at dinner i tell them to write as many things down that they see that starts with a certain letter or has a certain color in it! Even if they get bored the end up playing tic tac toe or drawing.

  • A good stress reducer for me is blogging. Writing about whatever is bothering me helps me process what's really going on vs. how I feel about it. It helps me keep a cool head about things that might otherwise make me explode. I just have to remember to make posts about my family "private" so I don't end up accidentally making my life more stressful!
