According to a new Pew Research Center study, 60% of moms who work would prefer to work part time. This number is up 12% from 1987.

The bad news is that, according to labor statistics, only 24% of working moms have part-time hours.

These findings aren't really surprising; as moms, we want to do both - work and spend time with our families. Doing this with a demanding full-time job is extremely difficult. An interesting bit from the article mentions a similar study conducted by another organization, that found that Generation X moms are much more focused on spending time with their families and having a more balanced lifestyle than boomers.

Do you agree? If you are part of Generation X, do you feel that you're more focused on having more balance in your life and spending time with family than your parents?
