The lede of the story also makes me wonder how they're defining "pushed out" -- are women being pushed out because they're told they have to leave, or because they're opting out after not getting the flexibility they want -- and are those the same things?

  • Women can't have it all. Just as fathers can't have it all. You do need to choose. Women just seem to be making the choice, and fathers continue on the traditional path. I think flexibility in the work place is more the answer. Question: If someone without kids asked for the same flexibility, would they get it? I haven't seen it. My concern is that having kids is being treated like having a disability. If we are going to change the work place, we need to allow flexibility for all, not just mothers.
