The findings from the Working America 2008 Ask a Working Woman Survey are hardly surprising. According to responses from 15,000 working women, they are exhausted, have little free time for themselves, and if they had more time, would like to find another job to supplement their incomes.

One of the disturbing findings is that many of the women see having children as having a negative impact on their careers.

It is true. The little things you can do to get ahead like working late, going to after work get-togethers, and dressing for success directly compete with spending time and resources on your children. Unless you have unlimited resources, it's difficult to be a superstar employee and mom.
