For all you WAHMs, how do you get your business off the ground while still giving your children the time and attention they need? What marketing tactics take the least amount of time and prove the most effective so you can get back to the ones that matte

Good morning, A great piece of advice I was given was make a calendar. Use the Daily ones that have the times on if from 6am-6pm, or something like that. Write all your family things, appts, meetings, etc on it. Now look at it :) Do you see a constant time available that you could work on your business? My 'free time' is right after I put the kids on the school bus (actually, I will usually hop on after my alarm goes off since that's a 'free time' block, before the kids get up, too). The other time I'll block off is after they go to bed. Part of me thinks it's a sad commentary of how fractured and busy we are that you have to have a daily calendar to see your daily events...but IT WORKS. Let me know what you think :) If I can help you in any way, please don't hesitate to let me know. Melissa

The night routine.... I have two boys, 5 and 7 and getting them to settle down for bed has gotten out of control. They're giggly, jumping around, flopping on the floor...you get the picture. Anyone have advice on how to manage?
Answered on 19th May 2010:
What I alway did was start them getting ready at about 8 (when their bedtime was 9). I would tell them if they wanted a story, they had to be under the covers by 8:30. Some nights were totally crazy and we didn't get in bed till about 9:30. I just kept plugging away at it ... same routine. Another thing, I never, ever had the house totally quiet. Purposely. I've had friends who would put the kids to bed and want everyone and everything quiet, so as not to wake them up. Guess what? Have you tried perfectly quiet? It's very hard. Especially since I use to do laundry, clean up the kitchen, etc after they went to bed (since I worked all day) and they'd 'wake up' or 'get up' saying it's too noisey. Well, I don't 'do quiet' and they sleep just fine :) They hear the dishwasher or laundry and it's all fine. Start this young and it's going to be a cake walk :)
