I just went through this same thing. I have always worked and dont like the idea of being "trapped" or not doing well financially. For the past several years I have also been out earning my husband. This year I became so miserable that neither one of us could take my misery anymore. With us both working, our weekends have become a two day marathon of getting chores done and its so overwhelming that many additional things that need to get done have just sat there undone for a year. We both felt like we were on a chaotic wheel that was spinning so quickly and we have no time to enjoy anything. I was always in a bad mood, exhausted, and just in a constant state of panic trying to get things done. We planned out our finances and then decided I would put in notice. I think that you have to follow your heart - although you have to also be practical. If the finances dont work, maybe you can just cut back your hours to part time.

This new push against procreating just makes me pose the question "What are some people teaching their kids?" Obviously the people making the nasty comments about how kids are money-sucking, freedom-taking leeches and so forth have parents, they didn't just appear on the face of the Earth. lol. It just makes me sad that somewhere, along the road, these people got the message that money, careers and material posessions provide more fullfilment than family and love. My ex's mom was a preschool teacher (scary) who actually disliked kids and was always telling hmy ex what snot-nosed brats they all were. I can imagine that hearing as a child would hurt since he was one, but it did raise him to believe the same (main reason he's my ex). I just never thought that this attitude would suddenly become a movement.

I got an email from our customer service folks telling me you don't like our new look -- and just wanted to say that I hope to see you soon anyway! You're a big part of this community and I hope the new look is something you can get used to. We redesigned based on tons of member feedback about the site being too cluttered and hard to navigate -- but as with these things, we can't please everyone.
