We also were like you 10yrs ago. We have learned that modern preaching does not match up with what gurbani guru is saying. To get out of confusion, we decided ONLY to follow gurbani guru 100 percent, even if it seemed to go against what we have been told. satnam waheguru
It is NOT written anywhere in sggs ji that. Sggs ji (or any granth) is living jyot/light. Even \"guru manyo granth\" shabd is NOT written by tenth guru ji but afterwards.
Gurbani says that \"bani guru guru ha bani vich bani amrit saray,\". Which everyone quotes and it means gurbani is the guru. But next line is not mentioned by preachers much \"sevak jun jis no manaa partakh guru nistaray.\". Which means \"the divine servant who obeys gurbani guru, the manifested guru ferries them across.
So always there has been the. Servant(sikh), the shabad guru, and the manifested guru.
guru gobind singh ji did not change it, he gave honour to gurbani by calling it guru granth sahib ji - so it is our gurbani guru- or gian guru as it has the brahmgian - divine wisdom of all the manifested gurus in it. Nowadays preachers say sggs is SATGURU. But what does guru gobind singh ji say \"pooran jyot jagay ghat meh tab khaalas tahi nikaalas jaanay\"-the one in whose HEART the perfect light of GOD shines is known as KHALSA otherwise noone is khalsa.
