I started my business accidentally 34 weeks pregnant with my third child last year. I started to think, 'hey, there should be other mums out there working from home.... where are they?', did some research and found the Virtual Assistant industry.

I would join up with VANA www.vanetworking.com it's free and the sheer amount of information is mind boggling. They have a very active forum and weekly webinars with visiting experts talking at each one. You can also download old seminars in audio format.

Another great site is Alliance for Virtual Business www.allianceforvirtualbiz.com Now this one is a paid membership web site but again the information is astounding. You can also join their mastermind program and learn from experienced VAs who have been around for a long time.

Oh once last web site. IVAA (International Virtual Assistant Association (www.ivaa.org), again this one is a paid membership web site but it is a not for profit trade organisation.

I am a member of all three sites and personally I don't believe you need to go to VA school to be a VA. As long as you have the administrative or PA experience and know how to do the work, you should concentrate you $$ on learning how to run a successful small business. Virtual Business U (www.virtualbusinessu.net) have courses on how to run successful VA practices and enrollments are now open. I'll be teaching with them so I am a bit biased, but you can't go wrong with them.
