  • I can't remember...really! I have a 10 month-old baby girl

  • I have a baby at home and typically I am the one taking care of him whenever I can,I mean after work
I see to it that I will give him a bath. But the last time I did something all by myself was when I listen to my
    favorite DJ over the radio.

  • I'm still at the point where I'm not ready to leave home without the baby. At most I will run to the grocery store. But, I do enjoy taking a bath every now and then and letting my husband take care of the baby.

  • This might sound sad, but I consider going to the gym or for a quick walk at night something I do just for me. It's a great de-stresser and something I need to do to feel energized.

  • I have no trouble going to movies alone. Or eating alone. A few days ago I went to the gym alone for the first time, did my whole workout and then lounged by the pool doing my editing work. During the school year I ride our horse twice a week, which is challenging because his level is far above mine. I don't like hanging out with friends much and much prefer being on my own working on my web design or trying to write or improving my photography skills.

  • Last night, actually. A group of us moms met in a post-partum drop-in group last summer, and we've kept in touch. Most are SAHMs, but we working moms try to stay in the loop, even though we miss the weekly playdates. We've started going out for dinner/drinks, without kids or partners, about once a month. Before meeting up with them, I even met up with my old friends (who don't have babies) for their weekly night out (which I attended, weekly, for 5yrs until I had my baby.)

  • A few weeks ago, I had to take a day off from work to get some errands done, and I wanted to meet my sister and her kids for breakfast, but the timing didn't work out. So I took myself out and relaxed with a book over my coffee and a breakfast panini from the Corner Bakery Cafe - it was VERY nice. Making time for "just me" is more challenging these days since I remarried a guy with shared custody of his kids - he and I spend our "non-kid" weekends a lot like Kathy does, but we do most of that stuff together, so both us need to plan "alone time" for ourselves individually a little better than we do.

  • I'm a single mom and the kids are with their dad every other weekend. I take advantage of that freetime to get errands done, play with friends, catch up on sleep and get chores done around the house. Last weekend I volunteered at a memorial baseball game and went on a two hour bike ride. I also did something that I RARELY do: I canceled all of my social plans for Friday and Saturday evening so I could have those nights for some quiet time for myself. It was a WONDERFUL weekend!
