I'm not interested in teaching; I'm interested in the marketing side, an industry I have 22 years of experience in the corporate world. The problem is transferring those skills (or better yet, convincing them that those skills are transferable!)
Get a subscription to The Chronicles of Higher Education for their job listings (also available online). But really, the only way to break in is to have an advanced degree, preferably a PhD. Some places and community colleges will let you teach with a Master's Degree. Unlike other positions, academic institutions hire instructors and profs really only about once a year, but they start advertising for the next year early. Keep an eye on job postings, and good luck!
