Breakfast: Morning Cup of Joe

I don’t know about you, but before I can even fathom cooking myself breakfast I need a little caffeine to wake me up. This recipe is an absolute cinch to make, even if you’re still sleepy or groggy. Oh, did I mention it’s downright delicious?

 

  • 1 C. coffee
  • 1/4 C. half and half (you could also use milk or creamer)
  • 1/4 C. sugar  
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Ice, to taste

 

Combine the sugar and water in a saucepan and heat over medium, stirring frequently until well-combined. Continue stirring until it forms a thin syrup and begins to bubble slightly. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Pour your coffee into a large glass with your desired amount of ice and then stir in the syrup. Then pour the half and half over the top and drink immediately.
