Labor Day is extra special for those Northern states, because it's one of the last times we can take advantage of the grill outside before summer ends. For meat-lovers, skip a trip to the steakhouse and grill a perfectly seasoned steak this Labor Day.

  • 4 ribeye steaks, cut 1-1 1/2 in. thick
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 2 teaspoons ground thyme
  • 3 teaspoons ground oregano
  • 2 teaspoons pepper
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon pepper seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons red pepper flakes

  1. Brush steaks first with olive oil, then with Worcestershire sauce.
  2. In a bowl, combine remaining seasonings. Sprinkle and press mixture on and into steaks. Cover steaks and chill for approximately 1 hour.
  3. While still covered, grill steaks over medium heat for approximately 8 minutes on each side, or until preferred doneness is reached.
  4. When done, let steaks stand for 5 minutes. Cut across the grain and serve with a Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot.
